Gray and Gold Bedroom
Gray and Gold Bedroom
This is my son’s gray and gold bedroom. I chose his rug first and then I worked on my color palette. When I walked into West Elm I knew this rug would be ideal for his room. The warm neutral tones compliment our white oak flooring. The bedding I selected came from many sources. Bedding is more interesting and eclectic when you add different pieces from other brands. Notice I have a lot of texture on his bed such as the gray velvet quilt along with the matching two euro pillows to the back of his headboard, two geometric woven Target pillows, a subtle abstract gold lumbar pillow in front, and another quilt with gray and cream striped pattern placed over the velvet quilt. He is studying architecture so I added an architectural art piece above his bed which ties in the warm colors. The lamps came from Pottery Barn and the matte black iron base brings another element to his room. His camel desk chair brings another tone to his room while still blending with the other colors. His bathroom has gray vertical tile on the walls grounded by the walnut vanity and striking gold sconces with a tall mirror to be cohesive with the vertical gray tile. The ambiance of his bedroom is comfortable and relaxing.
